After securing the bathroom door, Bryson put aside the towel and answered, “Hey?”
Hannah’s voice was clear. “I heard the contract’s getting signed tonight, as per Mr. Lyons?”
“Yeah, I got the invite. It’s a full house tonight. There will also be the Juarez and the Delgado clans. I can’t say if it’ll pass smoothly,” he replied.
“Roland’s not too banged up, but the Juarez head’s stubborn. And Mr. Lyons is sweating bullets,” he added with a chuckle.

Hannah smirked. “And the Compton crew? Are they really gunning for this deal? You know my old man. He’s been in the business trenches for ages. He’s a real sly fox.”
“If he really wanted to ally the Compton family with the Lyons bunch, he wouldn’t have gone tying knots with the Pierce family.”
She sighed into the phone, not giving a second thought to the Compton family.
“Even if Wallace chickens out of signing for some flimsy reason, Lyons won’t dare stir trouble.”
Bryson raised an eyebrow. “It looks like I’m the last guy who can refuse. I’m flying solo here. If things go south, they could brush it off as an accident. It would not be the first time!”
Bryson’s jest in such a situation, almost made her crack a smile.

“Oh? Is the esteemed Mr. Mitchell turning into a sage now?” she teased.
He chuckled. “I guess so. We’ll work out our escape plan later.”
Thump, thump, thump!
A series of knocks interrupted their conversation.
Bryson’s alertness spiked. His tone turned icy. “Hold up, I’ve got company. I have to check this out.”
“Sure, take care,” she replied.
After hanging up, Bryson emerged from the bathroom, heading to the front door.
Remington stood outside. It was a rare sight to see him visiting Bryson solo since his arrival at the villa.
Bryson’s expression remained stoic. “What’s up?” he asked curtly.
“It’s about the contract, won’t you invite me in?”
Remington’s gaze shifted into the room.
“Nope,” Bryson replied flatly, blocking the doorway. “There is no need for that.”
Remington made a move to pat Bryson’s shoulder, but Bryson sidestepped, unfazed. “That’s good. I was worried you might not be willing to cooperate.”
